The mainstream media right now loves them some Andrew Cuomo. They really like carrying his press conferences on a daily basis. Their dream is to set him up to be the Biden replacement so they keep running him in the best light, day in and day out. Wonder what they'll do when New York is out of the woods and Chicago or New Orleans becomes the focus. Will they still cover darling Andrew on a daily basis?

Now the president carries a press briefing every single day and how many news sources have simply dropped it? Why? Could it be because all this transparency was making the president look good? Well, yes. All one has to do was look at how poll numbers were on the rise and the public at large was finding the govt response to be very competent and the president was looking like he found his leadership quality.

I'm not always crazy about the speaking style of the president but it is his style. I would get severely irritated by the Obama style of being so overly self-referential. The guy just plain overdosed on vitamin "I" and could not deliver anything in speaking form without using I, me, my, to a nauseating extent. It could have become a drinking game.

A thing I have noticed about some of these press briefings is he is kind of training these people to ask legitimate questions. Acosta still tries for the gotcha but for the most part the president is doing very well in this format. The press always asks for access, now they get it and they back away from it. They make excuses that this is becoming like a daily Trump rally. That's BS. When do the press get to show up and ask questions at rally? The press always demands transparency and here they get it on a daily basis. They want to present the president as being anti-science and when they find that he trusts the science and the advisors it blows up their narrative.

There is some historical significance in researching just how contentious the press/president relationship was with FDR in the early days of WW2. FDR got into battles with the press who covered him. They questioned if he had knowledge of Pearl Harbor before it happened. They questioned his decisions. They questioned his relationship with the military leadership and his meddling in war planning. One of things they were critical of was FDR's optimism. Sound familiar?

Trump gets blamed for lying because he is often being optimistic. What do we want? Do we want doom and gloom and desperate depression? Or do we want hopefulness for some better days ahead as we get into the near future? The man is a cheerleader for America and tries to give hopeful news to the people. They've got the worst case scenario news coming at them everyday like it is being shot from a fire hose and he tries to talk about seeing a better option. In the aggregate I'd say he's doing well.
Political correctness,...is the inability to speak the truth about the obvious.

For the most part, the "press" needs a fire hose turned on them and rolled down the streets into the nearest gutters.
